Independent and Ensemble

Iowa Indoor Marching Arts allows students to enter their solo or small ensemble into a competition.
I&E 2024 Ranked Competition: IIMA Waukee (Saturday, March 23, 2024)

Performers will represent the IIMA-associated ensemble with which they compete. Performers will be sorted into the following competition classes, depending on the status of their IIMA-associated ensemble:

• Scholastic Percussion

• Independent Percussion

• Scholastic Color Guard

• Independent Color Guard

To receive a performance slot at an I&E event

• Performers should speak with the director of their IIMA-associated program. Individuals not participating in an IIMA-associated ensemble are not eligible to compete.

• Directors may register as many participants in their ensemble as they wish. The cost to compete is $25 per performance slot. At this time, there is no maximum number of performance slots. If the number of slots becomes limited, priority will be given in the order registration was received.

• Directors will receive confirmation of I&E registrations.

• Performers should prepare a performance between 90 seconds and 4 minutes, regardless of competitive class.
